Thorpe Bay

It was my Grandson's First Birthday - we had been eating sausage Rolls and sandwiches all day but by the evening needed a proper meal !! We read reviews and it sounded good so we gave it a try. We are not local so it was our first time. We have been to various carveries before but I have to say your food was the best I had eaten at this type of Restaurant. All the meat was tender and moist and the roast potatoes in beef fat were the best ever. In fact all the vegetables were lovely. we agreed that on our next visit to Southend we would take my daughter, her husband and our Grandson for a treat. The atmosphere was cosy and the staff were all friendly and helpful.In particular our waitress Mandy was really friendly and funny. It really made a difference to our visit. we will recommend and be back next time we are in the area.

I love roast dinners - so I will always go to Toby's for a good meal.I find service always good, , and the food always a constant good quality at a reasonabnle price. I found the booking ap. easy to use, and the free parking most welcome!I will eat at Toby again.

Excellent staff. Really friendly and very helpful almost like family I am treated. Juliet is amazing and because of her I will recommend Toby to loads of people

The staff were friendly and cheerful. Really welcoming which makes a big difference in my opinion.The food was pretty good and I was too full to order pudding.

Always a lovely meal here. Excellent meat selection - cooked well - although we like to see lamb on the menu as well . A very good choice of vegetables too.
